BY LAWS

ARTICLE VI
Officers of the Board of Directors

The Officers of the Board of Directors shall consist of the President, Vice-President, Executive Secretary/Treasurer, Tournament Statistician, Web Designer and the current "Tournament Director".
Section 1.  Officers

1. President
   The President of the Board of Directors shall be an existing board member, elected by a majority vote of the Board of directors. the president shall serve for a period of three (3) years, and may be re-elected upon completion of each term of office.
2. Vice-President
   The Vice-President of the Board of Directors shall be an existing member of the Board of Directors and elected by a majority vote of the Board of directors. The Vice-President shall serve for a period of three (3) years, and may be re-elected upon completion of each term of office.
3. Executive Secretary/Treasurer
   The Executive Secretary/Treasurer shall be an existing member of the Board of Directors, elected by a majority vote of the Board of Directors. The Executive Secretary/Treasurer shall serve a period of five (5) years, and may be re-elected upon completion of each term of office. The Executive secretary/Treasurer upon his election shall appoint a person from his agency to fill his position on the Board of Directors. The position of Executive Secretary/Treasurer is Non-Jurisidictional.
4. Tournament Statistician
   The Tournament Statistician, shall be an officer of the board and shall be elected by a majority vote of the Board of Directors. The Tournament Statistician shall serve for a term of three (3) years, and may be re-elected upon completion of each term. The position of Tournament Statistician is Non-Jurisdictional. (AA May 1995)
5. Tournament Director (current)
   The Tournament Director is that person who has overall responsibility for the operation of each tournament and becomes a member of the Board of Directors. If an agency shall host the tournament more than once, and someone other than the current Board member for the agency is to be the tournament director, that person shall become a member of the Board of Directors One (1) year prior to hosting the tournament and the current member shall become an Honorary Director. 6. Web Designer
   The Web Designer shall an officer of the Board and shall be elected by a majority vote of the Board of Directors. The Web Designer shall be responsible for the maintenance and design of the NWLEBT web site. The Web Designer shall serve for a term of five (5) years and may be re-elected upon completion of each term. The position of Web Designer is Non-Jurisdictional. (AA 2005)

Section 2. Board of Directors

1. The policy making body of the tournament shall be the Board of Directors. The Board of Directors shall consist of active police officers who have served as Tournament Directors. Three (3) "At Large" members appointed to the board by the president, with a majority consent of the Board of Directors, and three (3) female tournament participants. (AA May 1990) Directors "At Large" shall serve for a period of one year, and may be reappointed to the position. Board members who retire shall remain on the Board as "Honorary Directors" and appoint a person to replace them as Director. The Directors "At Large" shall be members of the Board of Directors and Not Jurisdictional. The Board members shall elect each year a Female participant to serve for a term of three (3) years. The three year terms art to be staggered. (AA May 1990)   Board members who have not attended a Board meeting for a period of three (3) consecutive years will be dropped from the Board. In the event such action should render a city/agency without representation on the board, the Board of Directors will contact such city/agency for a recommendation as to a replacement on the Board. In the event no recommendation is made, the Board of Directors shall "appoint" a board member.
   
   For purposes of clarification, Re: Eligibility to hold office with or serve as a board member. The term "Active" shall be considered to mean either an active or retired Police/Law Enforcement officer who is an active participant in the NWLEBT. (AA May 1992)
